Pick n Pay reported a headline loss of R299 million for the 26 weeks ended 30 August 2026, down 31.9% from R439 million a year earlier. The result shows a narrower reported loss, while the company also said it would pay no dividend.
Supermarket segment remains loss-making
Pick n Pay’s supermarket segment recorded a trading loss of R516 million, compared with R621 million in the corresponding period a year earlier. The reported decrease was 16.9%.
No dividend declared
The company said it would pay no dividend. Rand Desk reported that the board did not expect to declare one until the group returned to long-term sustainability.
The interim figures report a narrower headline loss alongside a trading loss in the supermarket segment and no dividend. These results provide investors with information about the group’s reported performance and its current dividend position, but do not by themselves establish whether the improvement will continue.
