Advtech acquired 25% of MathU Teaching Emporium in a transaction concluded on 16 July 2026 for cash consideration of R15.8 million, according to its interim results.

The investment gives Advtech a board seat and exclusive rights to MathU’s current and future AI-enhanced education solutions. Advtech says those rights apply in all markets.

An existing classroom relationship

MathU’s platform has been used in Advtech’s Schools Division under the Advlearn brand since 2023. It supports personalised learning in Mathematics and Physical Science, so the investment concerns technology already in use within the division rather than a newly introduced platform.

The board seat and exclusive rights give Advtech an ownership interest and a defined commercial position in MathU’s education solutions. Those rights cover both current and future AI-enhanced solutions, while the existing Advlearn use shows how the two companies are already connected operationally.

Social-impact initiative

Advtech’s announcement also says MathU Society, MathU’s social-impact initiative, will provide Mathematics and Science support to students in underserved communities.
