South Africa’s October 2026 fuel-price adjustment took effect on 7 October. The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources lists the adjustment on its fuel-prices page, while BusinessTech reports that the schedule was published on 5 October.

Petrol 93 rose by R3.12 a litre and petrol 95 by R3.33 a litre. Both reports put the resulting inland prices at R29.88 a litre for petrol 93 and R30.25 for petrol 95.

Diesel and other fuel changes

At wholesale, diesel with 0.05% sulphur rose by R2.84 a litre, while diesel with 0.005% sulphur rose by R3.24 a litre. These are adjustment amounts, not new wholesale prices.

The adjustment also raised wholesale illuminating paraffin by R3.58 a litre and LPG by R0.42 a kilogram, according to both reports.

Why the adjustment matters

The increases change the per-litre or per-kilogram cost of the affected fuels for buyers. The reported figures establish the size of the adjustment, but do not establish how much households or businesses have spent as a result.
